Tips & ideas for creating a romantic Bedroom!

Bedrooms are a sacred space! A place to hide away, rest and recharge in the midst of busy lives. Yet, often creating that cozy or romantic retreat is difficult!

We have created a list of 5 tips and ideas to help you create that romantic bedroom you have always wanted!

Tip #1 – Start simple: PAINT!

Beautiful soft greys are popular this season and there is a perfectly good reason why!

These soft grays create an elegant, light and airy feel that makes one feel as if relaxation is simply a nap away!

Tip #2 – Find that something you LOVE!

For me, I love this bed by Birch Lane. There is something about the classic silhouette that I adore!

Find that one piece you love – end tables, lamps, bed frame or art work and use what you love about that piece to inspire you!

Tip #3 – Create balance and structure.

Don’t just slam the bed into a corner, balance the space out by placing the bed in the middle with matching end tables on each side with a pair of lamps. This basic rule creates a balanced space ready for the finishing touches!

Worried about your cozy bedroom.

Even in small bedroom spaces…..creative ideas for side tables can be used!

Tip #4

Add unique touches that mirror your own soul!

From chunky blankets in a deep charcoal grey, to soft delicate curtains that blow gently in the breeze…..or maybe special sconces you make yourself! In decorating a romantic space, it is most important that the unique touches reflect you!

I love the idea of using antique door handles as curtain tie backs…..adds a touch of whimsy to the room!

Tip #5 – Once all your hard work is done….remember to sit back and enjoy your romantic Bedroom!

DIY CHALK WALL IDEAS

Chalk board paint is a pretty neat thing! Scoot on over to pinterest and you will find all sorts of fun ideas. We thought we would put together a list of our favorite DIY CHALKBOARD IDEAS!! Some are big and some are small but all are amazing. Enjoy!!

CHALK PAINT IDEA #1:
Find the perfect place in your home to add a bit of character. Tape off where you want it to go, paint the area with chalkboard paint. Take an old picture frame, glue or screw to an area on your wall and VIOLA!!

CHALK PAINT IDEA #2:
PAINT a whole WALL!! At first I was a bit skeptical of going BIG, but look at how awesome this is.

I love the contrast of the black wall with the white trim! And I also love the idea of writing fun sayings, inspirational quotes and seasonal stuff on the wall.

Stairways!!!
They can be a source of inspiration or decorating frustration. So we thought a few ideas might help turn that source of creative conundrum into a fountain of “I can totally do this!”

First: Does your family have a special saying, quote or scripture that exemplifies your family or home? Why not use those risers to inspire and express it!

BEAUTIFUL!!

Second source of inspiration: Rustic is fabulous! Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Its amazing what a touch of reclaimed wood can do to a dead space! And it looks georgeous!

Third bit to inspire: Lighting! I know right? Who knew something so obvious could have this much of a Wow effect!

Fourth Fantastic idea: Texture or patterned wallpaper. Take the mundane and make it extraordinary. With little expense and a little more effort this idea has impressive results.

Last but not least: Creative Combinations. I stumbled upon this beauty months ago on pinterest. Its files in my “Inspirations for the home I will never build.” The idea of combining wood and file is stunning.
