I love green! So this up and coming 2018 trend has me excited!

According to pinterest the hottest decorating paint color for 2018 is “Sage”

While grey tones are still popular the industry has seen a shift…..many customers wanting a muted alternative to grey. Such as Glidden’s “Prairie Sage” a beautiful color that is perfect for the whole house.

Velvet sofa’s are a beautiful new trend for 2018 and why not stick with “Green!”

Tips & ideas for creating a romantic Bedroom!

Bedrooms are a sacred space! A place to hide away, rest and recharge in the midst of busy lives. Yet, often creating that cozy or romantic retreat is difficult!

We have created a list of 5 tips and ideas to help you create that romantic bedroom you have always wanted!

Tip #1 – Start simple: PAINT!

Beautiful soft greys are popular this season and there is a perfectly good reason why!

These soft grays create an elegant, light and airy feel that makes one feel as if relaxation is simply a nap away!

Tip #2 – Find that something you LOVE!

For me, I love this bed by Birch Lane. There is something about the classic silhouette that I adore!

Find that one piece you love – end tables, lamps, bed frame or art work and use what you love about that piece to inspire you!

Tip #3 – Create balance and structure.

Don’t just slam the bed into a corner, balance the space out by placing the bed in the middle with matching end tables on each side with a pair of lamps. This basic rule creates a balanced space ready for the finishing touches!

Worried about your cozy bedroom.

Even in small bedroom spaces…..creative ideas for side tables can be used!

Tip #4

Add unique touches that mirror your own soul!

From chunky blankets in a deep charcoal grey, to soft delicate curtains that blow gently in the breeze…..or maybe special sconces you make yourself! In decorating a romantic space, it is most important that the unique touches reflect you!

I love the idea of using antique door handles as curtain tie backs…..adds a touch of whimsy to the room!

Tip #5 – Once all your hard work is done….remember to sit back and enjoy your romantic Bedroom!

One tip I love is that knockoffs are awesome! If you see a mirror you fall in love with but it is $700 why not try to make it yourself for a fraction of the cost?

Don’t think you can do it? Well why not check out the local goodwill or salvation army. You would be surprised what knockoffs you can create with a thrift find and a can of spray paint!!

What we liked best about this post is her choice of paint and floor tile! Grey is the new trend and her photos highlight how beautiful and calm the right color grey can be.

Our next blog that has a pretty fantastic DIY Redo is The Handmade Home. For Ashley and her husband Jmnin, it all started with a bit of mold in the bathroom.

The bathroom went from choppy and dated to open and airy. The closed in shower was opened up with glass doors and the dated tan tile was transformed with beautiful white wall tiles and a beautiful mosaic tile floor.
