Over the last few years, BLACK FRIDAY has seemed to creep its way into the Thanksgiving Day Celebration. Many have criticized businesses for opening on Thanksgiving day and we here at The Carpet House agree with the critics.
Our policy at The Carpet House, Inc. has always been to close over the Thanksgiving Holiday from Thursday to Sunday allowing our employees quality time with their friends and family! While we greatly appreciate and look forward to helping you in purchasing flooring….we are confident that our customers understand the importance of why we stay closed.
Which is why, on December 5th, our beautiful town of Morrison, IL comes to life in a very special way to celebrate Christmas.
Friends, Family and Strangers all come together to enjoy sleigh rides, decorated store fronts, visits with santa clause and our Holiday Hometown Parade! (which is always a favorite!)
For the last sixteen years, The Carpet House has hosted an Open House during Morrison’s Christmas Walk. We open our doors offering a yummy variety of homemade goodies and hot cocoa from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm! Holiday Baskets will be given away, good food and fun will be had for all!
So while we may be closed this Thanksgiving weekend, our HOLIDAY wish is that you will take the time to join us December 5th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for our HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE!

Last but not least is one of my favorite fall centerpieces. With Thanksgiving a few weeks away this centerpieces is a fun and creative way to spruce up a dead spot on your table! My kids usually love hunting for the acorns! A few hurricane lamps, acorns, big candles and VIOLA!

Find the perfect place in your home to add a bit of character. Tape off where you want it to go, paint the area with chalkboard paint. Take an old picture frame, glue or screw to an area on your wall and VIOLA!!

PAINT a whole WALL!! At first I was a bit skeptical of going BIG, but look at how awesome this is.
I love the contrast of the black wall with the white trim! And I also love the idea of writing fun sayings, inspirational quotes and seasonal stuff on the wall.
